Float to Fight Polio World Record Attempt

SEBRING, FLA. (JUNE 20, 2017) All roads lead to Downtown Sebring from 7 a.m. – 12 p.m. Saturday, June 24th, as the Sebring Sunrise Rotary Foundation will host a float to fight polio at the City Pier and Rotary Park Beach. What makes this event exciting, besides the fundraising for Polio Plus, is the attempt to break the world Guinness record for the world’s longest floating inner tube chain. The current record is 634 inner tubes. The Rotary Club hopes to see 1,000 people floating on inner tubes on Lake Jackson.

While no donation is required to participate, the Rotary Club is suggesting a $10 donation or whatever amount the participant can contribute to Polio Plus; The Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation will match each dollar contributed. Expect 20 lifeguards on site and WWOJ to do a remote live broadcast of the event. Brings your friends, family, camera and inner tube if you agree that there’s nothing better than having fun for a good cause.
