Incentives & Assistance

With more and more Downtown events, attractions and retailers generating nearly 200,000 pedestrians in foot traffic each year, Downtown Sebring is the up-and-coming place to locate your restaurant or retail location.  And it is currently affordable.  Plus, the Community Redevelopment Agency (CRA) provides financial business incentives to qualified business owners.

• Restaurant Incentive Program – The CRA has allocated $100,000 in the current fiscal year to assist new restaurants in locating or re-locating in the Downtown Sebring district.
• Facade Grant Program – The CRA provides financial assistance to property owners to improve the exterior of their buildings.
• Downtown Advantage – A three-way partnership between the landlord, tenant and CRA.  Funds have been allocated to this program and are currently available.

Congratulations to Downtown Sebring’s “McLane’s Country Garden Cafe” that recently won Start-Up Business of the Year from the Highlands County Economic Development Commission. With financial assistance from the Sebring CRA, McLane expanded her Downtown Sebring plant shop this past year to include a unique, open-air, garden restaurant that offers a wide variety of specialties, including quiche, soups, sandwiches and homemade desserts.
